- “Services” refers to the website, payment infrastructure, APIs, dashboards, documentation, and related tools provided by Zapi.
- “Website” refers to zapihq.com and all its subdomains, including blog.zapihq.com and docs.zapihq.com.
- “User” refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses our Services.
- “Content” refers to all text, documentation, images, code, and other materials made available through our Services.
- “Merchant” refers to a User who has entered into a separate commercial agreement to use Zapi's payment processing products.
3. Use of services
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our Website for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. Commercial use of our payment processing products requires a separate merchant agreement.
You agree to use our Services only for purposes that are permitted by applicable law and these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Account registration
Certain features of our Services may require you to register an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update that information to keep it accurate. You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to create an account.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you should contact us immediately.
5. Acceptable use

6. Fees and charges

Payment processing fees are charged per successful transaction and may vary based on payment method, region, and product. Additional fees for payouts, currency conversion, disputes, and other services may apply.
We may change our fees upon reasonable notice. For merchants, the applicable fee schedule is governed by the separate commercial agreement.

All Content on our Website, including text, documentation, logos, graphics, and software, is the property of Zapi or its licensors and is protected by Ethiopian and international intellectual property laws. The Zapi name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Zapi Financial Technology S.C.
You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any Content without our prior written consent, except as necessary to use our Services in accordance with these Terms. Our documentation is made available for your use in integrating with our APIs and does not transfer any ownership rights.
8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Zapi, its officers, directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, our Services.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, for access to our Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zapi and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our Services, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

Upon termination, all licenses and rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.
You may stop using our Services at any time. If you are a merchant, termination of your commercial agreement is governed by the terms of that agreement.
12. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
13. Changes to terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page with the “Last updated” date shown above. We will notify users of material changes through our website or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
